Method

Stand in a circle.

There is a shared chat which goes:

Two sandwiches, two sandwiches, whatchoo gonna do with two sandwiches?

Play progresses like this (in rhyming couplets):

A: The first one I would put on my head

B: The second one I would eat in my bed

All: Two sandwiches, two sandwiches, whatchoo gonna do with two sandwiches?

B: The first one I would fly to the moon.

C: The second one I would keep until June.

All: Two sandwiches …etc

Play until everyone has had a go/ you are tired.

Variations

This is also called Two aubergines 🍆🍆 and a couple of other names that aren’t going to be repeated here. 😰

Teaching Notes

Try to make each other look good. Pick easy to rhyme words.

Don’t be caught out when you have to do two lines back to back. It’s the second line, when you have to start the couplet that actually catches most people out.

This is a “practice running towards failure” kind of exercise. The more you want to get it right, the less success you’ll have.

The worst that can happen is you go “The second one I can … rooty-toot-toot” (or whatever rhymes).
