Method

The group walks around the room in a random pattern, moving into space wherever they can and avoiding merely circling.

The facilitator has several instructions they can deploy:

STOP The groups stops moving

GO The group begins moving again

TURN Everyone individually makes a sharp turn

CLAP The group claps their hands

HOP The group each does a single hop on one leg

When they have got the hang of that, reverse several commands - so STOP means GO and vice versa.

Try and catch them out and increase the frequency of commands until everyone stops being able to do it/ starts laughing.

Teaching Notes

This is a great game to teach play, failure, group cohesion and the joy of movement.

The more you WANT to do it correctly, the more likely you are to get it wrong.
