Dear Improvisers,

Suddenly, I could fly.

After decades of theatre-making chained to a script, to blocking, to one character, one story.

I was free.

Improv threw the doors open and I stepped out into the sun-drenched fields of possibility.

No set. No costumes. Just play.

Since then, improv has reconfigured my life.

Creatively, I have a consistent medium with which to express myself.

Socially, I have a network of friends and practitioners based all over the world.

Financially, I make a comfortable living sharing its tenets with others.

Personally, I am a better, more capable human being.

I really like improv.

And I watch a lot of improv.

Here’s what I see.
